Technology companies will eliminate harassment image on the internet

CALIFORNIA - Microsoft reportedly will cooperate with a lot of technology companies to eliminate child harassment images on the internet. The software giant will use PhotoDNA software, which previously also ever used by law enforcement agencies for the same purpose.

The Times reports another technology company that will cooperate with Microsoft, among others, including Google, Twitter, and Facebook. But there are three other technology companies that are still yet to be revealed.

Every company has its own system to remove the images of harassment, but this new project will be more maximal because all companies mutual of cooperation for make one single database that is specific to child abuse images.

All companies are incorporated in this new project will use Microsoft's PhotoDNA software, which can make a unique signature image for all image of child abuse. With the software, the company can also compare the pictures that exist on other sites.

The image database will be stored by the the charity group Thorn: Digital Defender of Children. Then the photographs were found will be sent to the law group in the United States (U.S.) and English.

So far, only Google has been confirmed the company's participation in the project. As for the Microsoft, although not yet give confirmation, but the company participated in (task force) online protection owned by Thorn.
