The Pocket Power Charger in the form of pants pocket |
SOUTHAMPTON - Scientists from the University of Southampton in the UK has been develop a charger, or battery charger a cell phone which using users own body heat. This innovation is showcased in the event the Isle of Wight Festival which took place some time ago.
The Pocket Power Charger is which basically not shaped like a cell phone charger in general. But rather, a pocket shorts are made from thermocouple (thermoelectric materials) that is flexible and plug-in for your mobile phone.
In addition, other forms of this charger is a sleeping bag. The way it works is simple, enough with absorb the temperature that exist in the inner layer and outer pants pocket user or sleeping bag. Then uptake will be converted into electric power which is then used to charge the battery.
"There are two opposite sides of the inner and outer layers, namely the hot side and cold sides. When you insert the phone into the pocket, then the body heat after a long time will be absorbed and can produce voltage for battery charge of mobile phones, "said professor of Southampton Professor Stephen Beeby.
