KYOTO - College students from Kyoto University cooperating with Hitachi Zosen Corp in Japan created a "gate closing" that functioning to prevent the coming of flood. This device will automatically close the gate despite electrical interference due to flood or tsunami, so that effective can be relied.

Since the earthquake that followed with a tsunami in March 2011 ago, the Japanese using the technology has been many developed a device that can detect earthquakes and floods. So that, the general public can immediately search place for shelter before the occurrence of the incident.

 Gate closing that is named the Gate Flap can be installed in various front sluice the building to prevent entry of water flow when happens flooding. Besides it, Flap Gate can also be applied to the sea wall to block tsunami waves.

Gate this closing that is designed specifically in order to resistant to strong water pressure during floods as well as have good buoyancy to block the water spread widely. Currently own this gate can withstand water up to a height of five meters. Although still in the stage of perfection, but seemingly this device have a bright future in the Sakura country.
